This is a picture of an infrared aerial photograph and it is taken of the Sacramento deep water channel. The color in the aerial photos usually represent the different land types and vegetation. The red is live vegetation and the blue grey is what kind of ground it is on and the moisture content. It can also be useful for analyzing water depth. This is also a part of the USGS.
